Summer Fashion Trends
Get Out And Get Seen In Casual And Relaxed Wear
Everything is opening up again and after a year of being mostly unseen, it is time to show up and get noticed. Given all we have been through this past year, it is no wonder the fashion trends for this spring and summer are casual and relaxed. We have 10 summer trends that you do not want to skimp on.
1. Baggy and distressed jeans – A great way to cover up while staying cool, the baggy jean looks both retro and cool while still maintaining a flair of classic and feminine mystique. They are a must for spring and summer transition back to Casual Fridays at the office.
2. Bright and bold colors – Break free from the doldrums! What better way to show your enthusiasm at moving forward than by sporting bright and bold colors.
3. Patterned and pastel dresses – Make dresses more appealing with patterned designs like the classic polka dot or floral pieces that remind us of the great outdoors and says “renewal.” Mood-setting sweet pastels are a delicate yet demanding statement.
4. Oversized jackets and blazers – Over a t-shirt or business shirt, oversized jackets and blazers are warm season hits. Always classy, always ready for the next move.
5. Polo neck sweaters – They go with everything! Wear it with full, ¾ or no sleeves – but make sure you have a few around this spring and summer and pair them with slacks for returning to the office, an outdoor date, or a walk around town to greet neighbors.
6. Sweater tees and shorter cardigans - Keeping you stylish and warm during the cooler evening or night hours, make sure you have enough of these to grab and go! Enjoy with preppy argyle prints shown in the image at right.
7. Elevated hoodies – Hoodies are going nowhere, but they are being elevated. Cashmere is adding flair to our beloved hoodies.
8. Go monochrome! – In a year filled with uncertainty, designers are betting on your imagination going wild with the elegant black and white. Chequerboard patchwork dresses are a favorite at D&G, while at Chanel you can find crisp layering.
9. Bermuda shorts – While you may think short shorts are in, the top designers say nay. The high-fashion houses of D&G, Gucci and a plethora of others are going for longer, wider shorts, echoing a broader shift that has been taking place across all areas of menswear for some time. Aim for a couple of inches above the top of the kneecap. Pair it with casual tops.
10. Vertical stripes – Concerned about having packed a few pounds over the past year? Embrace the vertical stripe trend. Not only does it look good as a print, but it can shave a few pounds off your appearance, making you look taller and slimmer.
