Local Scented Candle Entrepreneur Jackie Henry Will Discuss Her Business and How She Makes It Work At Nest Proper

  Hyattsville resident Jackie Henry knows a thing or two about making great gifting. She has been so successful with it she decided to go into business---Petals & Post, a small business devoted to hand-made, hand-selected vintage and new gifts. On March 11 at Nest Proper’s Meet the Maker event, Henry will discuss the business, her motivations and what makes it all work together.

   Jackie's love of the arts, and skills in photography, communications, and non-profit program management have given her a unique skill set that she now devotes to her business.

   According to Nest Proper, Petals & Post was born out of a career with many twists and turns. Jackie studied Photojournalism at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC. After graduating with her BFA, she spent several years as a freelance photographer, then spent almost nine years working in nonprofits supporting the cystic fibrosis and veteran caregiver communities.

   Jackie, her husband, and rescue dog, have been home owners in Hyattsville for over 10 years and love the small-town community feeling. She looks forward to seeing her business grow in Hyattsville and beyond.
