Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation Leads Economic Delegation To Kenya

Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation recently led a Business delegation on trade mission to Nairobi, Kenya. The Prince George's County-based business and Kenya leadership group explored ways to expand business opportunities in Nairobi.
Facilitated by Martin U. Ezemma, PGCEDC Director of International Business Development, the delegation included numerous business leaders and Prince George's County council members.
"The trade mission to Nairobi, Kenya is going too position our businesses to be very competitive in the IT, healthcare, infrastructure development, and professional services sectors," said PGCEDC Director of International Business Development, Martin U. Ezemma. "We believe the trade mission was very successful and our companies were able to participate in over 50 B2B meetings. We are looking forward to great results in the future because International Expansion Starts Here."
The mission was open to all industry sectors and businesses within the purview of Prince George's County. A significant mission goal was increasing investment and promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth for local companies.
While in Kenya, the delegation had unique opportunities to meet with U.S. Ambassador Meg Whitman. They discussed the possibility of boosting Prince George's County and Kenyan business connections. In addition, local companies were matched with Prince George's County companies through the assistance of a State of Maryland consultant in Nairobi. Furthermore the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Services division supported our companies business-to-business (B2B) meeting through its Gold Key Service.
PGCEDC has organized several international trade missions over the last ten years. These missions enable Prince George's County companies to gain entry into global markets, identify export opportunities, meet potential business partners, and understand the business landscape.
