Part of the third annual Smithsonian Food History Weekend, the Festival is a free day of hands-on learning, live demonstrations, talks, and stories exploring the past, present and future of food and community in America. The day brings together talented chefs, local organizations, experts, museum curators, students, and more to spark conversation, lead activities, and dig into food history with museum visitors of all ages.
Activities at the Festival include:
- Live Cooking Demonstrations
- Hands-on activity stations including: The Kids Table, Spark!Lab, and food experiments with Common Threads
- Deep Dish Dialogues
- Book Signings
- Agriculture on the Move
- The Business of Chocolate
- Harvest for the Table
- Garden activities including: Garden tours, seed saving, and flavoring
- Museum objects out of storage
