One of the great American songwriters, John Prine, turned 70 in 2016. His work is shaped by his parent's Kentucky hometown and his Illinois upbringing, with influences ranging from country to acoustic folk to rockabilly. Songs such as “Angel From Montgomery,” “Paradise,” “Illegal Smile,” “Sam Stone” and many others have cemented his place on the American music scene for more than 40 years.
