Entre Dos Mundos/Between Two Worlds

  • Washington School of Ballet, Joseph C. Coleman Studios 3308 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20016 United States (map)

Reflecting an aesethic between two worlds: of classical ballet and contemporary dance; and Latin American and American culture, this Program is a culmination of CRDT’s ten week intensive summer program and TDC’s 2017 Season. This full evening program presents excerpts from Marius Petipa’s elegant Sleeping Beauty; Y Ahora La Esperanza, created by Hisaka, and dedicated to the 80,000 lost Salvadorans during their civil war; and Lloyd Whitmore’s (Atlanta Ballet) neo classical full company piece created to the uplifting music of Bach, Brandenberg and Bobby McFerrin. Proudly presenting special guest performing performers, Fidel Garcia (Cuban virtuoso, former soloist with Dance Theatre of Harlem, El Taller, Washington Ballet), Giovanna Montoya Adochiles, Maurice Johnson, and members of DCCDT/TDC.
