The Life of Queen Elizabeth I
A reading of a play by scholar Carole Levin

This play examines who Queen Elizabeth I was and what was important to her, as she thinks about her life and reign. We see both the young Elizabeth and the one at the end of her reign, often on stage together as Elizabeth considers religion, courtships, and the many threats to her throughout her life including those from Mary Stuart, Spain, and the earl of Essex. Other characters include the ghost of her mother, Anne Boleyn, Robert Dudley, one man she truly cared about, a series of her ladies in waiting, and the French ambassador.
