TEDx CollegePark

  • Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center 8270 Alumni Drive College Park, MD, 20742 United States (map)

We will have a day filled with over 13 different speakers from around the world discussing ideas worth sharing.  We will have someone talking about the following: Autonomous cars and how they will reduce revenues to jurisdictions because there won’t be a need for parking garages, red light and speeding cameras so what do we need to start doing now to replace that revenue? African prison project and how if you treat inmates with respect while they are in prison, when they return to society, the will be more likely to be productive. Artificial Intelligence and how currently, the darker skinned you are, the more of a random guess it is on facial recognition.  Customer service jobs and cashiers, will be a thing of the past, because robots will take those industries over.  What are we doing to prepare our residents to enter a new workforce? Smart parks and what that means along with parks of the future. ($)
