In celebration of Black History Month, Wellspring Manor & Spa proudly hosts an exploration of Black film history and a private screening of the short film, RIVERMENT.
RIVERMENT is a narrative short film that explores the evolving fight for Black rights in America and the generational toll on families. The film discusses the generational differences between the Baby Boomers who participated in the Civil Rights Movement and millennials participating in Black Lives Matter, while highlighting the post-traumatic stress experienced by those involved in both.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film’s writer and director, Shayla Racquel and a meet and greet reception.
