On #EmancipationDay, we celebrate DC's progress in advancing racial equality and civil rights; however, we MUST also highlight the importance of our continued fight for #DCstatehood - an ongoing fight for EQUAL VOTING RIGHTS.
Join us as we celebrate the unique legacy of freedom in the nation’s capital, while pursuing the fight for DC Statehood. New to the parade this year are floats designed by local students as part of Mayor Muriel Bower’s DC Emancipation Day Float Design Competition.
Parade start time: 2 pm
Concert: 3pm - 8:45pm at Freedom Plaza
