The JoGo Project is a genre-blending ensemble inspired by the musical stylings of Chuck Brown. Based in Washington, D.C., the band combines elements of jazz, funk, rhythm and blues, rock, even pop, and, of course, Go-Go music to create a fresh, healthy blend of styles that’s sure to keep you on your feet! Founded by saxophonist Elijah Jamal Balbed in 2014, the JoGo Project’s goal is to unite cultures and communities by introducing jazz fans to Go-Go and vice versa.
