Miramar is the the awe-inspiring male-female singing duo of Rei Alvarez (Bio Ritmo) and Laura Ann Singh (Quatro Na Bossa).
Miramar draws its inspiration from the golden age of romantic music, primarily that of the Latin American genre known as the bolero. Made popular by Mexican, Cuban and Puerto Rican combos of the 1950s, the bolero, also known as trio music, became synonymous with various slow to medium grooved Latin American dance rhythms. As its popularity thrived, the bolero grew and fused with other musical styles to create sub-genres of bolero-rock, jazz and disco. Miramar explores the tradition through their own interpretations and compositions, further experimenting within the bolero genre.
