In the fall of 2007, School Without Walls Instrumental Music Department, the school’s first instrumental ensembles of any type in its over 70 year history, marked a new stepping stone in the pursuit of a better education. Along with being well-rounded in rigorous academic subjects, students in the instrumental music department now have the opportunity to learn what it is like to play in a band, orchestra, and various other ensembles, which may become a career option further down the line. With the instruction of Christopher O. J. Alberts, the band director, the students work to learn all the aspects of creating music with other people.
