Join the National Air and Space Museum for a day of activities and programs at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center to recognize the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied mission in France that gave their forces the foothold they needed to defeat Nazi Germany the following year.

View archival materials collected by the Museum’s Archives department
See photos of World War II in original color (and virtual reality).
Hear special curator presentations on D-Day topics, including: the role and preservation of the Museum’s B-26 Marauder Flak Bait, (10:30 am and 11:00 am); the transport of D-Day troops in Douglas C-47’s (12:30 pm); the role of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion that protected the Normandy beaches. (1:30 pm)

Watch “D-Day 3D” in the Airbus IMAX Theater (11 am, 12:30, and 2:55 pm; fees apply)
Take a special D-Day themed docent tour.
Enjoy musical performances by the Air Force Strings Ensemble (12:00 and 1:00 pm).
