Labor Day Capitol Concert 2019

The Labor Day Capitol Concert is an annual tradition in Washington, D.C., happening each year on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The performance is free to the public, and the National Symphony Orchestra often performs patriotic songs in honor of the holiday.

This year's concert is happening on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. on the West Lawn of the ​U.S. Capitol. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. Open rehearsal at 3:30 p.m.

The National Symphony Orchestra led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke will feature vocalists Mykal Kilgore and Nova Payton in a program of popular songs by R&B hitmakers including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, James Brown, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and others.

The public access points are at 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and 3rd Street and Maryland Avenue, SW.
