To have "cold hands and a warm heart" means to appear stern on the outside while being truly tender within. Black women are often accused of being intimidating, mad, or stern yet equally given a nurturing, mothering label. This multidisciplinary group exhibition will examine the double consciousness that black people, especially woman possess. Removing the mask we wear to reveal what is really underneath; the side we give to our families, communities, and ancestral worlds.
