Martin Luther King Day of Canvassing Service 2020

  • Joephine Butler Parks Center 2437 15th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

Most of us feel it: As a democracy and a society, we can no longer work together to make a better world. If we don't change things, we are heading toward a grim future.

Let's fix it. We know how. When people start working together for a shared civic goal, divisions are healed, and a sense of hope and the power of love are rekindled. No longer helpless bystanders, we feel empowered.

All you need now to make a difference is the courage to talk to people around the city about the need, how they can get involved as tutors and mentors, and why it matters – to an individual child and to our larger world. We keep it positive but not passive and plant seeds of civic possibilities and hope.

We will gather at 10 a.m. for breakfast, conversation, orientation, and practice at the historic Josephine Butler Parks Center. Then we will fan out in teams to canvass at locations around the city.
