Enjoy a guided tour of one of our beeyards (apiarys) at Bee CARE Institute led by our professional beekeepers. Join us to learn about the Western honeybee with a 30 minute walking tour. Watch the bees scout out, forage for, and bring home the flowery bounty of our sanctuary site. Then put on a bee suit as open a hive and experience 200,000 gentle buzzing honey bees first hand.

Get an introduction to honey bees and learn how and why we do our work as beekeepers; ask questions and get to know our friends the bees first hand!

Please wear close-toed, farm-appropriate shoes AND socks that cover your ankles for the tour. Also, wear LIGHT COLORED long pants and long sleeves as well. Please avoid highly scented soaps, shampoo, and body fragrances. We have veils (covering head, face and neck) for up to 20 participants.

EVERY FIRST FRIDAY 2:PM - 6:PM WEATHER PERMITTING. If it looks like the weather is not going to allow a hive inspection and we have to cancel the tour, you will receive an email at least 24 hours prior with a code allowing you to put your ticket towards a different tour.

Make reservations early. $35 for adults, $10 for children (under 12). Age requirement: over 6 years old. Height requirement: Apporoximately 4 ft. There MUST be one adult in your group for each two children and a parent or gardian must sign the liability waiver and photo release for each child prior to attending.

It is important to be on time to this event as we will meet in the front of the building and then lead the group through the security gates. We will begin explainign the days ininary and answering questions at the stated start time and wait for 15 minutes before we go through the gates to the back where the bees are. If you are too late we will call you and add you to the next available event.
