Join a screening of filmmaker George T. Nierenberg’s beloved film, That Rhythm, Those Blues. Nierenberg has made some of the most entertaining and invaluable documentaries about African-American music. Through these recently restored films, audiences will follow the emergence of rhythm & blues and gospel music through the experiences and performances of some of its greatest artists.

The rhythm and blues music of the 1940s and 1950s emerged from African-American communities around the United States and paved the way to rock and roll. In this candid and infectious documentary, singers Ruth Brown and Charles Brown are among the R&B pioneers who share their memories.
