Vincent Van Gogh’s career as an artist spanned the final ten years of his life (March 30, 1853 - July 29, 1890). During that time he created 866 oil paintings, 21 of which are physically located at five museums in the Mid-Atlantic region: Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
