Hiroshima is an American GRAMMY-nominated band formed in 1974. Some of the musicians were descendants of Japanese Americans held in U.S. detention camps during World War II. Beginning with the band’s self-titled 1979 debut, Hiroshima, the band’s music has been a blend of R&B, smooth jazz, pop, and world music, incorporating Japanese instruments into their fold. Hiroshima has sold over four million albums around the world. Over 40 years later, they have managed to not only retain but increase their popularity.
