Each week of March, the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) is highlighting a distinctive and inspiring woman artist during its third annual Women Filmmakers Festival. The free virtual event utilizes a theme of “Her History Lessons,” with selected videos looking into the past to discover insights that can help us face current crises. This week's featured filmmaker is Mariam Ghani; on Monday, SAAM will release Ghani's What We Left Unfinished, with a live virtual conversation taking place on Wednesday between the audience, the filmmaker and Smithsonian curators. The film can be watched online through Sunday, and the conversation will be recorded and can be enjoyed through March 24.
