The film, “Not and Exit,” was filmed at The Mead Center for American Theatre (Arena Stage) in Washington DC. This project has been in creation for over three years. Inspired by a simple door sign, Lavan and Murray explored the idea of exits – when they are presented in life, and when they are not - with community workshops and dancers for over two years. “Not an Exit” was set to be performed as a live dance piece in June 2020 but was cancelled due to the pandemic. The work has been reimagined for the shift to film.

The film will be shown virtually on April 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. (ET) with a Q&A to follow from 7:30-8:00 p.m (ET) with the artistic directors, dance artists and filmmaker.
