Su Teatro + Agua, Sol y Sereno

  • Su Teatro (Virtual) (map)

Dates: May 12-15, 7:30pm

SU TEATRO from Denver, Colorado, is the third eldest Chicano theater in the United States — only Teatro Campesino and Teatro de la Esperanza precede it. The group has established a national reputation for homegrown productions that continue to speak to the living history and experience of Chicanos and all Americans.

AGUA, SOL Y SERENO on May 12-15, 2021

AGUA, SOL Y SERENO from Santurce, Puerto Rico, is a dynamic and multigenerational theater collective recognized for its deep social and human commitment. Established in 1993 by Cathy Vigo and Pedro Adorno with co-founders Miguel Zayas and Rudek Pérez, the group is known for developing a dynamic brand of popular and experimental performance featuring colorful and iconic costumes, set pieces, and “cabezudos” or giant papier maché heads. For this virtual residency, a special screening of original production ANTULIO PARRILLA: COOPERATIVISTA EN GRACIA is matched with a behind-the-scenes tour of the company’s workshop and talk with company members! This artist residency will be conducted primarily in Spanish.
