Born in Salvador, Bahia, in the Northeast of Brazil, multi-instrumentalist Nanny Assis was named Best Male Vocalist of the Year in Brazil in 2017 and has become a leading musical ambassador for his country. He is currently based in New York City, where he performs in countless clubs, concerts, and festivals. On this return performance to Montpelier!, Assis will be joined by widely respected arranger and bassist, Leonard Lucini and pianist José Luiz Martens with a special appearance by Alex Hamburger lending her flute and vocals to the program.
