BSO Academy Concert - Free

  • Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall 1212 Cathedral Street Baltimore, MD, 21201 United States (map)

The BSO Academy, which began in 2009, was created by Music Director Laureate and OrchKids Founder Marin Alsop and BSO English horn Jane Marvine, with the support of the Mellon Foundation. The Academy brings together passionate adult instrumental musicians from all over the United States and the world, and provides an intensive learning experience with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Academy participants play side-by-side with the BSO in rehearsals and performances, and experience musical enrichment classes, chamber music coachings, and sectionals led by BSO musicians and experts in the field. This is the tenth annual BSO Academy. There are 80 participants, who hail from 10 states and Washington, DC.
