An Arlington, Virginia native, Boston-based performer Aurora Martin is recognized for her sparkling and colorful soprano. She performs with many organizations, most recently joining the ensemble of Boston Baroque and the Boston Lyric Opera. Her notable operatic roles include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte; covering Agnes Sorèl with the Opera Company of Middlebury in Vermont; Micaëla in Carmen; Camilla in Pepito by Nicolas Lell Benavides; Noèmie in Cendrillon; Madame Silvertone in The Impressario; La ciesca in Gianni Schicchi; and Inez in Il Trovatore. Aurora’s solo concert repertoire includes performances of Mozart’s Coronation Mass; Beethoven’s Mass in C Major; Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio; Fauré’s Requiem; Erik Satie’s Socrates; and Mahler’s Das Knaben Wunderhorn. Recently named a semi-finalist in the Partners for the Arts, Inc. 9th National Opera Competition, Aurora, is looking forward to her debut in Bach’s B minor Mass this coming October with Boston Baroque.
