DC area actor, director and theater educator Alina Collins Maldonado brings her latest work, No Salgas Con El Pelo Mojado, to the Kogod Theatre for a staged reading. This bilingual (English and Spanish) theatrical performance was developed from actual interviews and workshops with Latina mothers and daughters over the last two years. Inspired by real accounts, this intimate performance will examine the cultural traditions passed on generationally, those we need to keep and leave behind for the freedom of our future daughters. No Salgas Con El Pelo Mojado was originally developed as part of the 2020-21 NextLOOK residency through The Clarice and Joe’s Movement Emporium and Alina has continued development this year as an Artist in Residence with The Clarice.
