National Harbor's Spirit Park is celebrating Veterans Day and the park's one year anniversary on November 11! Starting off the day is a walk/run to benefit the Check-6 Foundation, which has assisted hundreds of veterans in need in paying their bills, receiving medical attention, finding jobs and more, since 2004. Participants in the walk/run must register beforehand. The cost is $24.25 for civilians, $13.58 for military, and there will be a pancake breakfast at Spirit Park following the walk/run. National Harbor will also host the sealing of the Patriot’s Value time capsule along with a performance by the U.S. Air Force Band and free rides on the Capital Wheel all day for active and retired military. The day will end with National Harbor's inaugural 2023 holiday tree lighting of the impressive 60-foot tree and a custom light show, accompanied by a holiday medley recorded by the United States Air Force Band, and concluding with a patriotic firework show. It will be a great event to honor American heroes and kick off the holiday season!
