Hauschka, born Volker Bertelmann on August 11, 1966, in Ferndorf, Germany, is a visionary musician and composer known for his pioneering “prepared piano” technique, blending classical and experimental elements. After winning both an Oscar and a British Academy Film award for his work on All Quiet on the Western Front, Hauschka now looks to release his tenth studio album due later this year.
