The Family Mixed Media by Roxana Rojas-Luzon

Exhibit: Sep 19 - Dec 9

This exhibit is a group exhibit highlighting the artworks of three distinct Hispanic artists, Roxana Rojas- Luzón, Rubén Salomón, and Carlos García. Roxana Rojas-Luzón grew up in Perú, in a large extended family who loved gathering and “fiestas”. She uses materials such as, glue, magazines, fabric, photos, and drawings to provide her the freedom to play with light, motion, and contrast in her intricate collages. Rubén Salomón grew up between Peru and Bolivia and he is best inspired to create while listening to music. Painting allows him to translate his emotions into dynamic abstract works, filled with energy and movement. Carlos Garcia is a modern Peruvian artist whose paintings mix abstract forms and vibrant colors. He plays with recognizable shapes, bringing part of them out of context, reinventing outlines, and dramatic compositions. García’s body of work also includes landscapes and figurative art, his mediums of choice are acrylics, oils, pastels, charcoal, and pencil.
