Excellence in Black Dance is a celebration of the impact that dance artists of African descent have had on the field of Dance. In addition to highlighting the versatility of the Black Dancing Body as it exists in the present and moves toward the future, this concert also serves to honor the past by pulling heavy inspiration from dance great Alvin Ailey's seminal work, Revelations.
