Black Resistance Art Journaling

Celebrate Black History Month with this creative writing and visual arts workshop led by Arts on a Roll teaching artists! Participants will explore the concept of Black resistance and create original poems accompanied with visual journal entries relating to the theme of Black resistance. Participants will also have the opportunity to build creative writing skills and learn painting techniques. The session will close with a performance of the poetry and visual art created by each participant. In addition to building new forms of self-expression, each participant will leave the session with a professional quality sketchbook, a set of acrylic paints, a paint palette, and paintbrushes.
