Celebrate Juneteenth at Piscataway Park!

Open House: Drop by between 11 am and 3:00 PM to learn about the end of slavery in Maryland and other goings-on in Piscataway Park! The open house is a FREE, drop-in program, but registration is encouraged.

Journey to Freedom Tour: Honor Juneteenth on this "Journey to Freedom" tour led by Historical Performer Shemika Berry. Step through time and see how life changed on the Bolton farm when slavery was abolished in 1865. This event is FREE, but registration is required as space is limited.

Juneteenth Plant Walk: Join us for a free walk along as we learn about the plants around us. This introductory program will be guided by one of our knowledgeable naturalists and is meant for those who are curious and want to learn about the plants around them. This short walk is designed for all ages and will cover traditional uses of plants, relationships between plants and their ecosystem, and plant identification. This event is FREE, but registration is required as space is limited.

These programs take place outdoors over uneven terrain and will be held rain or shine. The Accokeek Foundation may cancel or alter the schedule of this program in the event of severe weather.
