  • John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Justice Forum 2700 F Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20566 United States (map)

Join us for a FREE screening of Style Wars. In 1983, just a decade after DJ Kool Herc’s historic “Back-to-School Jam,” PBS aired Tony Silver’s groundbreaking documentary on the burgeoning hip hop movement, a lively and richly observant account of the thriving culture of graffiti writers who were making their mark on the early-’80s New York cityscape.

Including a special introduction led by the film’s co-producer Henry Chalfant.
