Ottmar Liebert's global success is attributed to his creative vision, determination, and strong melody. Born in Cologne, Germany, he started playing guitar at 11. While traveling through Asia, he realized his passion for music. He pursued his love for rock music in Boston and eventually settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe gave him a fresh start and influenced his musical style, combining Spanish, Mexican, and World elements. Liebert formed Luna Negra in 1989 and released his debut album, Marita: Shadows and Storms, which gained attention and became an international sensation when it was remastered and released as Nouveau Flamenco. Recorded for under $3,000, it is now the best-selling instrumental acoustic guitar album ever.
