Each year, many of the United States’ most outstanding young instrumental musicians converge at The Clarice for weeks of rehearsals, training, seminars, and performances to hone their creative edge at the National Orchestral Institute + Festival (NOI+F). Chosen through a rigorous, cross-country audition process, the artists participating in the NOI+F offer awe-inspiring renditions of adventuresome repertoire under the leadership of Music Director Marin Alsop. In 2019, conductor David Alan Miller and the NOI+F Philharmonic received a Grammy nomination in the Best Orchestral Performance category, cementing this ever-changing ensemble as among the best in the world.
