Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry through recitation competitions for high school students across the country. The 2025 Poetry Out Loud State Competition will include nine high school students from across Maryland who will compete to be the Maryland State Champion. Prior to the State Competition, students have competed in local and regional competitions. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies.
