Performances: Nov 28 - Dec 27, various hours

In 2026, as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, our stage shines as a vibrant tribute to the American spirit. History and holiday tradition collide as George Washington and King George III settle their legendary score—reimagined as a spectacular battle between our heroic Nutcracker and a regal, becaped Rat King. From the soaring flight of the Bald Eagle to the delightful dancing dolls – Lady Liberty and John Paul Jones, join us for this D.C. original—a celebration of our history, our artistry, and our home.

For over six decades, the holiday season has signaled The Washington Ballet’s The Nutcracker. Set in 1882 Georgetown, it is more than a performance; it is our city’s living scrapbook come to life.
