This October Dissonance Dance Theatre marks its 20th season at the Publick Playhouse with Through the Dark, the Light Beckons. Choreographer Shawn Short presents company favorites and world premieres in three chapters—urban grit; memory’s fragments; and the spirit and sophistication of everyday life. Set to music from Earth, Wind & Fire to Angélique Kidjo, Nancy Wilson, Abel Selaocoe, Hans Zimmer and Max Richter, DDT’s new company brings athleticism, nuance, and emotional depth to stories that invite reflection and hope.
