Two Door Cinema Club, from Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, broke out with 2010’s debut Tourist History, featuring singles “What You Know,” “Something Good Can Work” and “Undercover Martyn.” The album topped the Irish chart, placed on the BBC Sound of 2010 list, and propelled the trio—Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday and Kevin Baird—from a Bangor garage to global festival stages. Trimble and Halliday met at school and recruited Baird; they self-released the EP Four Words to Stand On in 2009, gaining early buzz. Their follow-ups—Beacon (2012), Gameshow, False Alarm and Keep on Smiling—all reached the UK top 10, cementing them as arena and festival headliners. In 2024 they completed a sold-out 30-date U.S. amphitheater tour and a sold-out Australian arena run that ended at the Sydney Opera House.
