Dates: Sept 18 @6:30pm and Sept 30 @12pm
The US Civil War is typically understood as a struggle to end slavery and, therefore, one defined along a racial binary. While largely true, this understanding tends to exclude a number of racial and ethnic minorities who also participated in the Civil War. To better understand the experiences of individuals who identified as neither Black nor white, join the Surratt House Museum as we showcase how Latinos dealt with being caught in the middle of the Civil War and how they were seen by those around them.
This is a FREE event, but registration is required to receive the webinar link. The deadline to register for September 18 is COB September 14. The deadline to register for September 30 is COB September 26.
