This campout is from Saturday, August 23 from 12 noon until Sunday, August 24 at 12 noon.

Join us for the Great American Campout at Patuxent River Park Jug Bay Natural Area! Do you want to go camping, but don’t know how or where to go? Designed for first-time campers, this event provides an opportunity for families to learn basic camping skills, as well as connect with nature. For one night, park naturalists will show you camping newbies how to do it right.

Registration Fee: $25 to secure a campsite

• Only one registration is needed per campsite.

• 6 people/campsite allowed.

• Fee includes:

  • campsite rental

  • food (dinner + light breakfast)

  • campfire and s’mores

  • kayak and bike rentals

  • fun programs organized by the park (like stargazing!)

• Fee does NOT include: camping gear – tent, chairs, sleeping bags, flashlight, etc.
