Medea by Euripides

  • Harmony Hall Arts Center 10701 Livingston Road Fort Washington, MD (map)

Performances: Nov 12-Nov 14 @7:30pm, and Nov 14 & Nov 15 @3pm

Adapted and directed by Jacqueline Youm

Is Medea a vehicle of personal revenge or is she pushed to the brink of insanity to do the unthinkable? Medea is a sorceress who is a refugee in a foreign land with her two sons. Her husband Jason is wooed by King Creon to marry Creon’s daughter and thus, to abandon Medea. This centuries-old tale and its themes of betrayal, misogyny, and revenge still resonate and ring strongly in our modern day.
