The Beloved Community Summit two day virtual experience will provide insight into the strategies necessary for realizing the Beloved Community. The summit will feature an in-depth look at “Truth Telling” as a foundational concept to creating a more just, humane, equitable and peaceful world.

Dr. Bernice A. King and Bryan Stevenson are the keynote speakers, along with other exciting panelists. The summit will stream live on Facebook and thekingcenter.org

Join us for this informative dialogue as panelists delve deeper into the meaning of the Beloved Community. Dr. William Barber and Authors Ben Phillips and Irshad Manji will share their perspectives on what we must do in this world house to become a more just, humane, sustainable and peaceful global society. Our Moderator for this conversation is Nonviolence365 Instructor, Dr. Vonnetta West.

The City's MLK Program is organized by the Diversity Committee and is centered around the students who are finalists in the City's MLK Art Contest. Each of the student finalists will be recognized during the short program and at the end of the event, the contest winners will be announced. ** Please Note: There is a chance of snow on Saturday. If Prince George's County Schools cancel Saturday activities, then this event will be canceled.

And, performances by Soloist Karen Wiggs-Wilbanks and Djembe Drummer Do Powel. Sponsored by the Prince George’s County Office of the Poet Laureate.
