Witness Prince George's County's best, brightest & most talented youth poets together on one stage!

About this event

On December 13th, ten county residents aged 13-19 will compete to represent Prince George’s County as the 2022 Youth Poet Laureate. They will each perform & be honored for their talent, their bravery & dedication to their community. All but one of these finalists will be appointed County Youth Poet Ambassadors, and one teen will be honored with the title of Youth Poet Laureate for one year. Along with the prestigious title of Prince George’s County Youth Poet Laureate, the winning poet will perform at the National Library of Congress Youth Poet Laureate Commencement in April, and more.
