Let’s get this summer thing started right.
The 2019 season may be one of the most eventful in county history.
The Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center (PGAAMCC) will showcase the DMV’s rich arts and cultural scene through a variety of local events.
#MoreThanAMonth (June 15-22)
The four-day festival will feature entertainment for the entire family. This year’s theme is inspired by Marcus Garvey’s message: “Up You Mighty Race, Accomplish What You Will”
This festival brings the spirit of Pan Africanism alive with informative chats, live entertainment, sports, food and fun.
SuperNatural Festival (July 19-July 21st)
This festival showcases the beauty and aesthetic diversity of black women throughout the Diaspora. The black aesthetic has a rich history of oppression, triumph, survival and evolution. The SuperNatural Festival includes a fashion show, play, live entertainment, visual art, health and wellness workshops and more.
Rated PG Black Creatives Fest 2019 (August 30-31)
The third annual celebration of black creatives presents a festival with curated visual arts, music, and workshops that will investigate a prosperous future for members of the African Diaspora. The highly anticipated event will promote the talented voices and visual arts in the local community. Artists, vendors, food trucks, performers, art workshops, games and more will be featured in this celebration.
It’s going to be a hot one this summer --- well beyond what the thermostat reads.
