A Quarantine Mother's Day Gift
CAAPA Celebrates Mom, Bringing The Classics Into Her Living Room
A quarantine Mother’s Day was made extra special by the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) in a 20-minute virtual recital that was nothing short of breathtaking.
CAAPA, the nonprofit arts organization with a mission to both celebrate and provide support to Black classical musicians, opera singers, and other artists, aired their third in the virtual recital performance series, Vir-citals, May 10, on their Facebook page. here
The Mother’s Day program featured selections from the Sopranos Slay 2018 program, E strano Ah, Ah fors'è lui Sempre libera from La Traviata by Giuseppi Verdi. Staying true to their mission while we stay home during the global crisis, CAAPA has brought the classics into our livingroom with Vir-citals, a 20-minute program airing on CAAPA’s social media presence that includes a combination of mini-recitals featuring live performances, and/or archived CAAPA concert segments.
