An Evening To Be Grand
Riversdale House Museum Announces Twelfth Night Virtual Ball
It may seem pointless to get dressed to the nines and never go beyond the front driveway but revelers might want to make an exception for the annual Twelfth Night Ball.
The Riversdale House Museum is continuing its Twelfth Night Ball tradition in a modified format. Viewers will have the chance to bring the treasured event into their living rooms Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to don festive attire for an evening of dancing, with instruction and period music. The origins of Twelfth Night traditions, a peek through the candlelit home and a look at popular foods - are just some of the other highlights.
Riversdale House Museum, a National Historic Landmark, is located at 4811 Riverdale Road, in Riverdale Park, Maryland. But the ball will play out in living rooms across the region this year.
Advance registration is required by January 13. The cost is $16 per household for residents of Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties and $20 for non-resident households. Registration includes a link to attend virtual Twelfth Night for your household as well as being placed on a waitlist (2 people, added in order of registration) for an in-person, Twelfth Night return in the future.
Participants must have a laptop or desktop (with Microsoft Teams, video camera and microphone) to engage. An email with link and detailed instructions will be sent closer to the event.
Registration at www.pgparksdirect.com or directly here.
The whispers of a wonderful evening are already in the air. No telling where the night will end up after the ball. Well, actually…
Riversdale House Museum is owned and operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County.
