Prince George’s Community College’s Annual Heritage Film Festival Returns In A Free Month-Long Virtual Extravaganza

Prince George’s Community College’s annual Heritage Film Festival is back for a 16th season and not only is it virtual for all to enjoy, it is also a month-long celebration of independent international films.

Starting October 21 and running through November 17, audiences will have the opportunity to not only view four separate programs of short films for one week each, they will also enjoy discussions with selected filmmakers and esteemed moderators from the media community.

In keeping with the Festival's theme, Looking to the Future/Honoring the Past, a broad spectrum of short works by seasoned and emerging filmmakers from around the world is showcased - including films from India, France, Puerto Rico, and Turkey. This includes films of all types and genres about immigration, love, friendship, culture, family, food, magic, and much more.

Admission to all programs is FREE with registration. Registrants will be emailed passwords to access the Streamed films prior to start time or no later than one hour before the scheduled start time which is 7pm EST. No printed ticket is required as this is a virtual event.

If registration is closed and you would like to attend or you haven't received the link 30 minutes before showtime, email contact-cpa@pgcc.edu. Please also check your spam folder for link.

In keeping with the Heritage Film Festival's tradition of contributing food to the Prince George’s County community, we encourage audience members to donate to or volunteer at their local food pantry.

The Heritage Film Festival is a project of IN VISIBLE COLORS and 6Hearts. The Festival began in 2005 at Prince George’s Community College. It has grown and continues today in partnership with Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council, The Maryland Film Office, Center for Performing Arts, The Creative Edge Collaborative, and Prince George’s Film Office. The Festival is supported in part by Maison de Jacqui, the Anonymous Director’s Circle, local vendors, and loyal volunteers.
